This morning I was thinking of all the mothers that at this moment are suffering the pain of seeing there children walking in the wrong path of life. But if you are one of them do not despair, God's want all their prodigal sons and daughters to come back to Him.
It comes to mind the story of the mother of St. Augustine, how she prayed without ceasing for the conversion of her son. Monica's life can be compared with the often disappointing lives of many of todays mothers. Her eldest son, Augustine, was brilliant but prodigal. Monica encouraged his studies, but because of his life style, she suffered immensely. She wept so much that a bishop told her, "It is not possible that the son of so many tears should perish." She never ceased to pray for her son. She never focused on her own pain and suffering. She focused only on God and on the conversion of her son. Her prayers were finally answered and her son became a bishop and one of the greatest teachers in the history of the Church.
Saint Monica never gave up. She truly lived the words of Jesus -- to pray always and never lose heart.

All that you have done for your children will not go unrewarded.
They will return from the enemy's land.
There is hope for your future.
Your children will come back home.
I, the Lord, have spoken'.
