First of all, we ask you to forgive us for the times we have prayed for them with selfish motives, and hindered your answers to prayer. Forgive us for our self-righteous attitude. It wasn’t too long ago that we were mired in that old stagnant life of sin...but you embraced us with immense mercy and with your incredible love. O, LORD, remember Your covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. According to Your covenant Your Spirit is upon us, and Your words, which You have put in our mouth, shall not depart from our mouth, or the mouth of our descendants nor from the mouth of our descendants’ descendants from this time forth and forevermore. We put on Your full armor and having done all to stand, we stand on behalf of our families. Fearlessly we enforce the triumphant victory of our Lord Jesus Christ against Satan and his destructive strategies. We are here to build up the wall and stand in the gap before You, Father, asking for Your mercy to triumph over judgment.
Lord you are great and awesome, and we fight for our sons, our daughters, our spouses and our houses. May Every Breath Be A Prayer

Prayer is available to us with every breath.
Breath prayer is a meditative prayer in which we pause, slow down and focus on God’s presence. The repetition allows us to ponder our words deeply, to feel it them in the core of our being. The short phrase is prayed in rhythm with ones breathing so that, in a sense, we are praying our petition or praise with the very rhythm of life. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “pray continually.” As our prayer becomes as natural as breathing, we may be able to pray without ceasing. Our breathing becomes a prayer. Breath prayer helps me stay connected to God all day. It soothes my heart and sings to my soul.

Here’s a simple breath prayer to try today:
As you breathe in, silently say: Your Kingdom Come
and as you breathe out, say: Your will be done
Do this as often as you remember throughout the day.
Other examples are….
“In you, Lord, I put my trust,” “Help me understand your ways, Lord,” “Lord I am yours,” and “My Lord and my God.” The idea is to pick a meaningful phrase and repeat it until it becomes a part of your being.

Falling in love is a wonderful thing .I love Jesus and I Love God, He is the light that shines my way and gives me strength. Who can separate us from the love of God.... Who can fathom the depths of His love.... Christ, the author of love who enables us to love others. Our ultimate goal is to meet Him face to face and be like Him eternally, as He promise. Yes, falling in love with God again and again is the greatest romance!

T'was The Night Before Christmas Not a Sign of Baby Jesus

T'was the night before Christmas
and all through the town
Not a sign of Baby Jesus
was anywhere to be found.
The people were all busy
with Christmas time chores
Like decorating, and baking,
and shopping in stores.
No one sang "Away in a manger,
no crib for a bed".
Instead, they sang of Santa
dressed-up in bright red.
Mama watched Martha Stewart,
Papa drank beer from a tap.
As hour upon hour
the presents they'd wrap
When what from the TV
did they suddenly hear?
'Cept an ad.. which told
of a big sale at Sears.
So away to the mall
they all flew like a flash
Buying things on credit
and others with cash!
And, as they made their way home
From their trip to the mall,
Did they think about Jesus?
Oh, no... not at all.
Their lives were so busy
with their Christmas time things
No time to remember
Christ Jesus, the King.
There were presents to wrap
and cookies to bake.
How could they stop and remember
who died for their sake?
To pray to the Savior
they had no time to stop.
Because they needed more time
to "Shop til they dropped!"
On Wal-mart! On K-mart!
On Target! On Penney's!
On Hallmark! On Zales!
A quick lunch at Denny's
From the big stores downtown
to the stores at the mall
They would dash away, dash away,
and visit them all!
And up on the roof,
there arose such a clatter
As grandpa hung icicle lights
up on his brand new step ladder.
He hung lights that would flash.
He hung lights that would twirl.
Yet, he never once prayed to Jesus...
Light of the World.
Christ's eyes... how they twinkle!
Christ's Spirit... how merry!
Christ's love... how enormous!
All our burdens... He'll carry!
So instead of being busy,
overworked, and uptight
Let's put Christ back in
Christmas and enjoy
some good nights!

Life is so busy these days. We always seem to have so much that we need to do, specially now getting ready for the Holidays. Every now and then we need a reminder, like the story below, that we should take time to slow down, think, be with loved ones and to take time with God.

Enjoy.

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar.
He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.
As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door!
He slammed on the brakes and spun the Jag back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown.
He jumped out of the car, grabbed some kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what do you think you're doing?"
Building up a head of steam he went on. "that's a new car and that brick you threw caused a lot of damage that will cost a lot of money to repair. Why did you do it?"
Please, mister, please. I'm sorry, I didn't know what else to do," pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop,,,," Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car.
It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheel chair and I can't lift him up."
Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheel chair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He lifted the young man back into the wheel chair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything was going to be okay.
"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child said to him.
The man then watched the little boy push his brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a long walk back to his Jaguar....a long, slow walk.
He never did repair the side door. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention.
God whispers in your soul and speaks to your heart. Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at you.
It's your choice:
Listen to the whisper....or wait for the brick.

What could possibly be more astonishing than a sunrise?

The display itself is magnificent beyond belief, and yet it goes virtually unnoticed by millions each day.
Beyond that, the meaning of the sunrise is even more spectacular, because it heralds the dawn of a new day, a day filled with bright possibilities.
In an unimaginably vast expanse of nothingness, the sun which lights our every day is the only source of warmth and light within trillions of miles. The distance to the next closes star we cannot even comprehend, much less traverse in a thousand lifetimes. And yet here we are....warm, bright, full of life and energy.
The sun appears around the horizon each morning and makes it all possible.
When you find yourself ready to complain about what you don't have, stop for a moment to consider what incredible things you do have. And resolve to make the most of it all.

New day, new blessings. Don't let yesterday's failures ruin the beauty of today. Blessings of God are new every morning. Today has its own promise of love, forgiveness, joy and success.

The Fragility of Life

Life is so fragile we never know day to day what it will bring. I'm a hairstylist and because I’m in daily contact with many people I come face to face with all their joys and unfortunately their pain.
It is their pain that touches my heart every day, I have witnessed from my clients and in my own life that something can happen in a second that can change a day of pure joy into a day of painful circumstances.
Yesterday one of my favorite clients came in for her monthly appt. and right away I could see something was wrong. Well, I was shocked when through tears she told me that one of her sons died. Her son was only 47 years old, left a wife and a 5 year old little boy. He died unexpectedly of heart failure.
It is these stories that I encounter daily that reinforce my belief that we need to live each day as it is our last, trust in God and do our best to treasure each moment. Not an easy task but something we should strive for. We ( I ) sometimes waste so much energy worrying, obsessing or getting upset at things that I have no control over, or if I’m really honest, are so insignificant and unimportant. Unfortunately it seems to take something huge and usually devastating in your life or in someone else's to realize what you have around, taking a good look at the things that matter most in life, appreciating them and holding on to the important things as you let go of those that aren't as a reminder of the fragility of life. Even when you do realize those things sometimes it is all too easy to lose your way again and get caught up in everyday life, and forget how fragile life is, ours and those whom we love.

Attitude Determines Attitude

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.

It was my first visit to the beautiful country of Spain and I felt in love with the place, the people and the architecture.I took lots of pictures but what I loved the most was takeing pictures of doors as they are like taking pictures of the face of a building, they are designs that have stories to tell and which reveal the distinctive color palette of the city. The greatest Commandment

Love may only be a four letter word, but its one of the most powerful words you can use and can change another person's life forever.
When Jesus was asked, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" he replied, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind' - this is the great and foremost commandment, and there is a second like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself'. The whole Law and Prophets hang on these two commands." (Mtt 22:37-40, Mark 12:28-34).
Love is mentioned well over 350 times in the Bible. I’m sure God must be trying to tell us something. Jesus is always the living example of God’s commandments. He doesn’t just tell us things like “Love your neighbor,” or “Pray for those that use you,” he demonstrates those commands himself. As he hangs on the cross dying, he asks God to forgive the very people who are crucifying him. We are to love as Jesus loved....not a easy task but one we should pray daily…..

Unconditional Love

Unconditional love is one of my favorite topics because it is so powerful.
Unconditional love means different things to different people. I believe it means that we love someone no matter what they do....their actions do not dictated the love we feel at any given moment. We can be angry at someone’s actions, but still love the person. I also believe that unconditional love and acceptance are different. I can love someone unconditionally, but I do not have to be accepting of behavior that would be damaging. Unconditional love if the love God has for us. God loves his children, and because he does, he corrects them when they make mistakes. We, as parents, do the same. So like God, We do not have to accept actions that people do, but we don’t love them less because of it. Unconditional love is a feeling we have for someone without limitations. I love the magic of unconditional love! I think it’s what occurs naturally when we see God reflected in others. I personally believe that we were made with a 'hole' in ourselves that can only be filled by the one who made us. Our maker loves us unconditionally, and has already forgiven anything that we could possibly do. One of the greatest steps I have started in faith is learning to "live loved".
Corinthians 13 describes GOD'S LOVE very well. It says Love suffers long and is kind ,does not envy, does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in inequity, but rejoices in TRUTH, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
When you give, out of the abundance of your heart, when you move from the mental frame of giving instead of getting, it is when you will realize that life is sweet,after all. When all is said and done, remember, Love Is All There Is.

We are always looking for miracles but we overlook the obvious….
We are a miracle of God’s creation and LOVE.
Every breath we take and every beat of our heart resonates with the miraculous.From the top of our head to the tip of our toes, we are a miracle.Every time we think that we need a miracle, we should stand in front of a mirror and take a look at ourselves. We are God's greatest miracle. For as long as we've been on earth, God has been working miracles in our life .We need to start taking miracles personally and expect a miracle every day.It's not enough to accept the fact that we are a miracle, we must also develop positive expectations and discover the miraculous in our life.
Jesus meant it when he said, "As you believe, so it shall be done unto you." He was talking about the facts of life as He knew them to be. He said that anything is possible to him who believes. Jesus came to change our expectations about our life in a big way. He said, "I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly."

I’m on the hunt for bargains this year with yard/garage sales, estate sales, thrift shops shopping. You named I’m there. I’m never looking for anything specific but I have found some very unique home decor items at these places Even if I am not looking for anything in particular, I still like to go to see what everyone has, because you just never know until you step out and look. Through the years, I can actually say I have found some great bargains.

This little corner are all things I had found at those places. Except the plants.

One of my favorite ways to save money is to shop at secondhand stores. I always seem to find a new treasure! And I just found another gem last week (for $40) that I am excited about. I clean it up, painted it in a soft white, antiqued and sanded some of the edges.

God ~~ Healer and Comforter

Sometimes we bury hurts and pretend they did not happen, except they can resurface every so often, or we go to visit the graveside and spend time with our hurts.Sometimes we carry our hurts with us like a big burden and so they weigh us down.They never let us be free, they affect how we relate to others.
But our awesome God is waiting to set us free from our hurts.He is able to help us work through those hurts and how they have affected our lives. It is a process, but freedom from the hurt is achievable.
We can move forward.

HEALED AND WHOLE:

One day I dug a little hole,
and put my hurt inside
I thought that I could just forget
I'd put it there to hide.
But that little hurt began to grow,
I covered it every day
I couldn't leave it and go on
It seemed the price I had to pay.

My joy was gone,
my heart was sad,
pain was all I knew.
My wounded soul enveloped me
Loving seemed too hard to do.
One day, while standing by my hole,
I cried to God above
And said, "If You are really there,
They say, You're a God of love!"

And just like that,
He was right there,
And just put his arms around me

Something For God To Do..... Prayer Box

I started to write people’s names on slips of paper and put them in to a box that I called, Something For God To Do.....I keep this Prayer Box on the window sill above my kitchen sink. It’s one of the first things I see every morning. The names inside are safe there, and I regularly look at them to remind me of why that person needs my prayers and positive thoughts. This box that contains my very own collection of people I care about and who are in need of my focused thoughts and prayer, is a reminder to, be grateful for what I have, share what I have to give, and be humbled by all of you out there who are struggling, in pain, fighting the good fight, yet still able and willing to encourage others.
I got the idea of having a prayer box when I came by this ……..
Give God All Your Problems!
To My Child,
Good morning, this is GOD.
Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help. If you encounter a situation you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD (Something For God To Do) box. It will be addressed in MY TIME, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it nor remove it. Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem. If it is a situation you think you are capable of handling, please consult me in prayer to be sure that it is the proper resolution. Because I do not sleep, nor do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose any sleep. Please rest my child.
If you need to contact me, I am only a prayer away. My prayer line is open 24 hours of your day. I love you and will always be with you wherever you may go. As with all good things, pass my message on.

Story behind the picture of Praying Hands

- Albrecht Durer’s Praying Hands -

Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children. Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of Albrecht Durer the Elder’s children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy. After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then, when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines. They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg.
Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years, financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht’s etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works.
When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht’s triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition.
His closing words were, “And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you.” All heads turned in eager expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, “No …no …no …no.”
Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, “No, brother. I cannot go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look … look what four years in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother …for me it is too late.”
More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer’s hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer’s works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office.
One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother’s abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply “Hands,” but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love “The Praying Hands.”

The next time you see a copy of that touching creation, take a second look. Let it be your reminder, if you still need one, that no one – no one – ever makes it alone.

Where do I go for answers in my daily life.

My first choice is the greatest book ever written the Bible, where I go to find answers to any problem and guidance for living a Christ like life.
It is filled with so many great stories of courage, faith and love.
But I also love quotes and small prayers, I loved reading about other peoples thoughts and ideas. There are so many wonderful quotes and prayers around to inspire and encourage us. Is like a daily exercise for our soul, I have them all over my home, I carry some in my wallet, place them inside cabinet doors and tucked then in unsuspected places.
Here are two wonderful prayers by St. Teresa of Avila, that have helped me a lot. These prayers are so simple yet meaningful. It strengthens me, removes all my fears and calms my inner most worries.

Let nothing disturb thee;
Let nothing dismay thee:
All thing pass;
God never changes.
Patience attains
All that it strives for.
He who has God
Finds he lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

And pass on the love that has been given to you.

Attitude

The older I get, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It can make our day joyful or it can ruin it. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will take for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change how people make us feel. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is the way we chose to behave about it . Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. We are in charge of our attitudes.

Teacups are always great to collect and decorate with, in part because there is such a variety of styles out there. my problem is finding room for displaying and storing those I currently have. I found myself acquiring more, of course I buy them for their beauty and no so much for their value. You could said I’m not that particular. I just plain like them.

This really makes one think!!!!

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples.
Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.
ALL BUT ONE !!!
He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.
He was glad he did.
The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight.
The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl,"Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we
didn't spoil your day too badly."
As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?"
He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?"
Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.
If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would.
Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.
You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

  Let us live like we are worth the price He paid!!!!!

The thing I love to collect the most of are teacups.

A while back I bought this display rack for my them few teacups collection. I found two of them in a garage sale. I still have the other one empty sitting in a corner of my garage. I love finding bargains….

As you can see now I have it all filled.
There is something about teacups that I adore.
I think there are so romantic.

Here is an wonderful idea to use your teacups, filled them with cupcakes.
It will be great to serve at a party or a shower.

The Secret

One day, one friend asked another, "How is it that you are always so happy? You have so much energy, and you never seem to get down."

With her eyes smiling, she said, "I know the Secret!" "What secret is that?" To which she replied, "I'll tell you all about it, but you have to promise to share the Secret with others."

"The Secret is this: I have learned there is little I can do in my life that will make me truly happy. I must depend on God to make me happy and to meet my needs. The questioner's first thought was, "That's too simple!"But upon reflecting over his own life he recalled how he thought a bigger house would make him happy, but it didn't! He thought a better paying job would make him happy, but it hadn't. When did he realize his greatest happiness? Sitting on the floor with his grandchildren, playing games, eating pizza or reading a story, a simple gift from God.

Now you know it too! We can't depend on people to make us happy. Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that. Trust HIM! And now I pass the Secret on to you! So once you get it, what will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too! That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!But it's not really a secret... We just have to believe it and do it... Really trust God!

Sometime we need to slow down, take time to rest and review our lives. Our needs to always be doing and thinking overload our minds and our bodies with unnecessary stress. Of course it's always easier said than done. That is when we need to rely on God.

I personally need to do that , withdraw and quiet my mind so I can listen to what God is guiding me to do, or notice the lessons I need to learn. Like resisting the urge to over analyze every experience and live each moment instead. Letting go and letting God handle that part of my life that is out of my control or reach is what I strive every day to accomplish....By the Grace of God, I think I am getting closer.

Why do we love the sea? Is it because it stirs up so many powerful emotions within us? Is it because of it's unlimited power and extreme vastness or simply because of it's incredible beauty? I love the sea for all these reasons.When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused.
I'm so lucky to live in Naples, Fl is such a beautiful place. No matter what's going on in my life, walking by the beach makes me feel better. I try to get there even on my busy days it gives me such delight each day.

I haven't participated in Pink Saturday in a while but this photo caught my eye for its pretty pink color. Then the recipe sounded just as good as it looked. What a great punch to serve during summer! The recipe includes instructions for both non-alcoholic and alcoholic versions so you can please everyone. This would also be great for wedding and baby showers (especially if mom is having a girl!)

Sparkling Punch
Yield
Makes about 9 cups
Ingredients
1 (12-oz.) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
4 cups white cranberry juice cocktail
1 qt. club soda, chilled
Garnish: fresh mint sprigs
Preparation
1. Stir together lemonade concentrate and cranberry juice cocktail in a large pitcher. Cover and chill at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. Stir in club soda just before serving. Garnish, if desired.
Champagne Punch: Substitute 1 (750-milliliter) bottle extra-dry Champagne or sparkling wine and 1/4 cup orange liqueur for club soda; proceed with recipe as directed

It is easy to love those who love us., anybody can do that. What is hard is to love the unlovable .Despite the fact that they are rude, insensitive, self-centered, annoying and downright exasperating, God’s word challenges us to love those we view as unlovable.Love has the power to transform, not just the person being loved, but the person doing the loving as well. When we love the unlovable, when we begin to love our enemies ( start by praying for them), we find that our own lives are changed for the better. It is we who are enriched, we who are improved, we who begin to feel more at peace with ourselves and with others.

Appreciation. The word seems too benign and insignificant to describe how I feel towards all the love and devotion my mother has shown me throughout the years of my life. My mother is the drive within me that pushes me to be the best I can possibly be. She cares for me even when I am at fault. It is the loving bond we share that keeps me striving to make her proud. I am forever grateful and loving to she who raised me.

Letting Go And Letting God

Have you ever been in the mood to let go of worry, fear and doubt? Ever wonder what that would be like?
This issue has been on my mind a long time ,I struggle with it , in fact I don’t think it's possible to be in this world and not have to deal with it. But there is an answer and its a simple one, stop trying with your own strength to get rid of those emotions and instead ignore them and seek God instead. Don't just seek God but rather seek Gods presence, take each day, and each moment one at a time.
Jesus tells us “can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?” Of course not.
God intended us to trust Him. Worry is the opposite of faith & trust. When we learn to give our problems, needs, so forth to God, we're allowing Him to be in control, allowing ourselves the liberty, the freedom to enjoy what He has given us. Some of us by nature worry more than others. We should pray, giving whatever is bothering us to God, then going forth doing our best to enjoy life as it happens. And when the uncertainty of life takes hold of us, remember, God is still on the throne, He is still there, able to hear our heart's cries, always waiting to comfort & restore. It takes practice to let go of worry, fear and doubt, this doesn't mean we're to not be responsible but rather learn to enjoy the love & beauty in our lives. Whatever we feed within ourselves is what grows. Feed doubt, fear, & worry....they increase. Feed trust, faith, joy, & peace; they grow. So take each day, and each moment one at a time and let go.

Every Day Is A Lesson

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be but, when you lock eyes with them, you know that every moment they will affect your life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair but, upon reflection, you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart.
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.
Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to. If someone loves you, love them back, unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things.

MY FAMILY FAVORED DESSERT

Flan is one of the most traditional desserts in the entire Hispanic-influenced world—from Spain and Portugal to Cuba and Puerto Rico, all the way to Mexico and Central and South America. It comes in a variety of flavors and textures, depending on the local tastes and agricultural products of each different region.

This is a recipe I made often so I can truthfully say that it is delicious.

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar 2 to 3 drops water
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 can sweetened, condensed milk 1 can evaporated milk 1 can regular milk (measure from evaporated milk can)

Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place oven rack in middle position. Put sugar in a round cake pan. Using a heavy oven mitt or tongs, place the pan directly over medium heat to caramelize the sugar. Heat until the sugar liquefies, about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Do not touch the melted sugar it will cause serious burns. When the hot liquid in the pan is a golden brown color, remove from heat and set aside on a rack to cool and harden.
In a blender, combine the evaporate milk, condensed milk, whole milk, eggs, yolks, and vanilla. Process on medium speed until well blended. Pour custard mixture over the prepared caramel. Place the cake pan in a larger, deeper pan and pour about an inch of hot water around the cake pan to make a water bath. Cover the flan loosely with a foil tent and place the larger pan on the middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until flan is set in the center (it will no longer jiggle). Remove from the oven and cool on a rack at room temperature. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, at least 1 hour.

To serve, run a knife or thin spatula around the edge of the flan to release it from the sides of the pan. Place a 10-inch (or larger) serving platter on top of the pan. Turn the platter over and gently remove the cake pan, leaving flan on the serving platter. Using a flexible spatula, scrape up as much of the caramel as possible from the bottom of the pan and pour over the flan. Cut into triangular wedges and serve.

Garage Sales

Ahhh...garage sales. Don't you just love them! If you're like me you probably get excited just seeing a garage sale sign. There's something magical about driving up to a sale and seeing all those goodies up for grab at great prices. It's the "thrill of the hunt" and getting a great deal. I've always loved to shop and I've always loved a bargain.
These are a couple of my newest addition to my home from garage sale finds.

In our story of Creation, we talk about each one of us having our own path to travel, and our own gift to give and to share. You see, what we say is that God gave us all special gifts. Each one of us is special, and each one of us is a special gift to each other because we've got something to share.
My God, today, let me use the gifts You have given me. Let me use them wisely.

Laundry Room

Don't you think that the laundry room is one of the least decorated or neglected room in the house? My was and it was not very inviting. It had an ugly breaker box that was always staring at me. I hated the breaker box so I decided to paint a bird house to conceal it and I also painted the opening to the attic and a few other little details. And now my laundry room looks more sunny and cheerful.

LOVE to me is a powerful feeling, it breaks barriers, heals hearts, saves lives and brings miracles into our lives. Train yourself to think loving thoughts, speak loving words and demonstrate love in your every action—beginning with how you treat yourself moment to moment each day of your life.
The exact phrase "love one another" appears twelve times in the King James Bible. Each time it is directing us to love others . A list follows:

(John 13:34) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
(John 15:12) This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
(John 15:17) These things I command you, that ye love one another.
(Rom 13:8) Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another hath fulfilled the law.
(1Th 4:9) But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
(1Pe 1:22) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
(1John 3:11) For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
(1John 3:23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
(1John 4:7) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.
(1John 4:11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
(1John 4:12) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
(2John 1:5) And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

Our drama and suffering are but one thing—a wake-up call. A call to get it right! To heal ourselves so that we will heal our children, communities, country and our beautiful world. This is what God is calling us to do. TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER .

A new year begins, and like every year we all make resolutions to improve our life. We all have good intentions, but then we get caught up in the busyness of our daily lives that we forget what we promised ourselves what we were going to do. This year my resolution is to really try to leave all my cares to God, not to waste my day worried about things I don’t have any control over, to pray for God’s guidance and care, and let Him work in my life His will. He knows what’s best for everyone and in a world in which there is much to discourage us; in a future which is uncertain; we need a lot of prayer and inspiration to keep us going.

May God bless you all through out the new Year and may all your Dreams come true.

Recipe For A Happy New Year

Take twelve whole months,
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness, hate, and jealousy,
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.
Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty,
or thirty-one different parts,
but don't make up the whole batch at once.
Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.
Mix well into each day one part of faith,
one part of patience, one part of courage,
and one part of work.
Add to each day one part of hope,faithfulness,
generosity, and kindness.
Blend with one part prayer,
one part meditation, and one good deed.
Season the whole with a dash of good spirits,
a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play,
and a cupful of good humor.
Pour all of this into a vessel of love.
Cook thoroughly over radiant joy,
garnish with a smile,
and serve with quietness, unselfishness,and cheerfulness.
